Good Morning America – July 14, 2025

The Foothill Catalog is a collective design effort, placing the community’s voice at the forefront.

People examining architectural blueprints and designs at an indoor event, with some people standing and talking near a doorway with a 'Refreshments' sign outside.

We developed the catalog based on the community's needs through a series of workshops, town halls, and open houses.

We collaborated with experts across the building industry to develop design criteria that enhance each standard plan by incorporating best practices around resiliency, affordability, and approaches to preserving architectural character.

Notes from the community

β€œWhen I saw the sketches and floor plans of the Spanish / Mediterranean, I burst into tears in the middle of the T-Mobile Store. It finally feels like rebuilding might be doable.”

β€œThe vision of the Foothill Catalog is heartening and encouraging. It seems like a dream come true to be able to put back on the property, an authentic Craftsman house.”

β€œI think this is a fabulous idea and might allow many to rebuild who otherwise may be priced out.”

β€œI’m hoping that with the designs and guidance and community found within the Foothill Catalog, I will remain an Altadena β€˜til... Thank you all!”

β€œThank you for the update and for starting this project. It will help so many of us who are eager to make our way back to Altadena.”

β€œI am an Altadena senior whose home burned down in the Eaton Fire. I would love to rebuild my bungalow ... the idea of working with a group, being able to select a pre-approved design, and having support to get through this process is very encouraging and potentially, much less stressful.”
